It’s not often I wish myself out of New Zealand’s summer to a cooler possie.  But, I tell ya, if I could somehow magic myself to freezing Washington DC for the Inauguration of Barack Obama, I’d be there in a cold flash.

The interwebs have gone mad for all things Obama.  Insert Tui ad.  The interwebs have been Obamafied for quite a while now, but things seem to have gone especially beserk in the past week, leading up to inaug.

The New York Times have posted this cool Hope Bubble, where 200 red and blue supporters hopes for Obama’s administration are floating.

If you know your adjectives from your nouns, you might want to create your own inauguration speech using this speech generator.

Meanwhile, this mashup of Daft Punk is the opposite of subliminal.

The following is a mixed-media stop motion music video and celebration commemorating the election and inauguration of Barack Obama as the forty-fourth president of these United States. Audibly showcasing Adam Freeland’s remix of Daft Punk’s “Aerodynamic” and the imaginative stylings of forward thinking toy artists Dalek, Bill McMullen and Kubrick to name just a few.

Here’s a list of all the places you can watch or get realtime updates about the Inauguration.

And, what’s an inauguration without a drinking game!?  We can’t be there, but we are alive during a momentous time in history, and maybe now, fingers crossed, Americans will start to become less annoying.  I’ll drink to that!

Drink Every Time Someone Says:

  • “Historic”
  • “Monumental”
  • “Kennedy”
  • “Lincoln”
  • “Change” (as a noun)
  • “Most anticipated inauguration in history”
  • The name of a celebrity who thinks their opinion matters.

Drink Every Time:

  • Joe Biden’s hairplugs are awkwardly noticeable.
  • You see Oprah crying.
  • W glances at his watch.
