Politically incorrect job advertising

Hmmmn.  Is this ad a tricky marketing ploy or are these guys really nicotine-addicted, homophobic, chauvinists?  What about this one?

These ads apparently represent the glory years.  For whom?  I dunno.

Lita suggests they improve their ad review processes if they want business to really take off.  Who the hell wants a “cigar of three”?

UPDATE:

It was a prank to publicise a new telly show on Prime.  Journos all over the country are bummed they didn’t bother to investigate further and people are questioning the ethics of the prank, cos apparently PR people aren’t meant to lie to the media.  Uhuh.

  1. I want to work for them! Think I should send them my CV :oP

  2. Cos of the cigars, eh Blair? 😉

  3. Ah i believe Alex use to work for some advertising agency last year…

    Funny ha ha ha

  4. It’s not hilarious if you’re echoing rather than parodying ’50s values.

I’d have no faith in an advertising agency that has to appeal to lowest common denominator values, rather than actually try and make something humourous.

And would you trust an agency that can’t get the difference between of and or right in an advert they wou;d’ve paid hundreds for?

  5. I think the ads are hilarious. Umm isn’t it obvious they’re a send up?
