The great NZ CV dilemma: To authenticate or not

Ok, now this is just getting ridiculous.

Is anyone else starting to get the idea that we are the suckers for presenting an honest* CV?

I dunno what’s wrong with me, it seems all this time all I could’ve been running a telly station, conducting orchestras or holding top government positions. All I had to do was add the odd MBA here and namedrop a few hoity toity places there.  Jeesh.  More fool me and the rest of us who sincerely fret over references and worry which of the numerous freaks from that last job might just answer the phone.  Turns out noone is checking, well, not at the top level anyway.

Righto, I’m off to update the CV then.  I don’t see why I shouldn’t just amend my C- in pottery from Glenfield College into a first class honours degree in business from Yale.  Watch Lita’s career soar.

*I admit to having extended the dates of employment on previous CV versions (circa mid 90s), but only because in those days folk thought you were lazy for taking an OE.  Now, I am far too old to be able to lie on my CV and therefore, unfortunately, the officially listed experiences are all too damned real.
